Crete !
It was hot, hot and hot. How hot? The only places where you did not immediately die of the heat were:
at the pool, under a palm tree or on the terrace with lots of drinks. I know there are worse things in life.
Due to the heat there has not been any:
knitting
Knossos (I was so close but did not want to drag myself through the ruins under a 45 degrees sun like I am in dante's inferno)
archeological museum (we've been there but it was closed: welcome to greece! They close a museum ore shop any day of the week whenever they feel like it. No logics, no explenation, just closed! "Please come next day, missy!")
But still I have managed to do the following:
reading this book:
And as an alternative for the archeological museum, we went to the historical museum of Crete in Heraklion and there were these beauties:
Look at the georgeous sock: I might knit a pair : but what a pitty the ribbon blocks the sight of the whole pattern. Besides embroidery and one sock there were also some weaving tabelecloths:




















Fijn dat je het mooi gehad hebt (en warm) en dat je weer veilig thuis bent. Hier is de temperatuur gelukkig wel op breistand.

Om eerlijk te zeggen ben ik blij dat ik niet in Griekenland ben. Ik geniet van het oerhollandse klimaat, regen, zon, hagel, wind en wat al niet meer. Mij hoor je niet klagen over het weer dat we hier hebben.
Gelukkig heb je nog prachtig handwerk in het museum gezien waaronder een prachtige sok!!

Mooie handwerken...Nancy Bush heeft een Griekse sok, maar die ziet er wel heel anders uit!
Wel lekkere vakantie geweest, lees ik zo.
