the wheel of fortune, that's me

You are The Wheel of Fortune

Good fortune and happiness but sometimes a species of intoxication with success

The Wheel of Fortune is all about big things, luck, change, fortune. Almost always good fortune. You are lucky in all things that you do and happy with the things that come to you. Be careful that success does not go to your head however. Sometimes luck can change.

What Tarot Card are You?

HPNYknits
nominated me for rocking girl blogger. I am so honoured! And my sons are so proud of me! I started wearing a cowboy hat and some groovy sunglasses.
This is my price:

But now the difficult part: I have to nominate 5 other bloggers. Here they are, but notice the links on the side bars: They rock as well!

looking good

Yesterday my friend Lian, celebrated her birthday. I know her since highschool. This year we both turned 45. In dutch we say this the same as in english: I AM 45 years old. I prefer the french way of saying your age: J'ai 45 ans ( I HAVE 45 years). More ellegant in mine oppinion. Yesterday I wondered at what age "you look good" changed in "you STILL look good". Please, friends and gentlemen: don't think you are giving a compliment with that: skip the STILL, No STILL, it is absolutely not what we 40+ ladies want to hear.

This is the present I gave her, made of the selfspun yarn  ( blogged here )

Another friend (Caroline) makes the most beautiful bags (tassen), children's booties (laarsjes) and skirts (rokjes). Have a look at her shop: LiefsLien.

Crete !

It was hot, hot and hot. How hot? The only places where you did not immediately die of the heat were:

at the pool, under a palm tree or on the terrace with lots of drinks. I know there are worse things in life.

Due to the heat there has not been any:

knitting

Knossos (I was so close but did not want to drag myself through the ruins under a 45 degrees sun like I am in dante's inferno)

archeological museum (we've been there but it was closed: welcome to greece! They close a museum ore shop any day of the week whenever they feel like it.  No logics, no explenation, just closed! "Please come next day, missy!")

But still I have managed to do the following:

reading  this book:

And as an alternative for the archeological museum, we went to the historical museum of Crete in Heraklion and there were these beauties:010

Look at the georgeous sock: I might knit a pair : but what a pitty the ribbon blocks the sight of the whole pattern. Besides embroidery and one sock there were also some weaving tabelecloths:
