December 2007

last post 2007

It is becoming a tradition (3 times can be called that) : the last post dedicated to my blanket of fo's of the past year. I started this in 2005: I translate every knitted project in a square of 10 x 10 cm ( 2 x 2 inch). 2007 wasn't a very productive knitting year: only 12 squares. But I made a quilt and did some serious amigurumi. And then there was the huge time obsorber: work. But very usefull for the financing of the yarn.
I wish you all a very productive and happy knitting new year!

"almost cut my hair"

Leave the "almost" out, because I did. Although not as much that it is very short but my hairdresser cut off more than I ordered.
Anyway, it is done.
And so is the cardi.
I changed the collar and the seam and I put some pockets on. The rest is the same as the previous one. I am very happy with the new cargi. And with my new hair.

Poly&Esther Quilt

At E-Bay I bought this quilt. 5 euri seemed to be a cheap buy. But I didn't count on the extra costs:
50 euri shipping and 9 euri import.
An explosion of colours came out of the box. Electricity struck me when I touched the quilt: obviously made by Poly and Esther. They were very active in the 70's : but I love the colors and motives, so here it is:

pay it forward

Pay_it_forward

“It’s the Pay It Forward Exchange. It’s based on the concept of the movie “Pay it Forward” where acts or deeds of kindness are done without expecting something in return, just passing it on, with hope that the recipients of the acts of kindness are passed on.

So here’s how it works. I will make and send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment to this post on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. I do not know what that gift will be yet, and it won’t be sent this month, probably not next month, but it will be sent (within 6 months) and that’s a promise!

What YOU have to do in return, then, is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog.
I will now Pay It Forward to you THREE, I wonder who you will be?! Please, be a PIF! You will enjoy it just as much as we do!”

Knittingajour has sent me this beautiful stuff:

Go knit them a pair of those cuties you might say.
But besides the dogs, there is my husband: who refuses to walk the dogs if they have clothes on.
Husband versus cute dogs.....mmmmm........difficult choice.
