mother & daughter sampler

In 1970 my mother started a sampler. Halfway she put it in a closet. There I found it in 2006. It looked like this:

It took me 2 years to finish it. I call it the mother&daughter sampler.

On the left you can see the initials of my mother: j.p, the year she started it, 3 girls representing her daughters and a man in da house.

On the right are mine initials a.p, the year I started to complete it, 2 boys (yes: 2 sons) and 2 lovebirds (yes: my husband and me)

Here are some more details:

I am glad it's finished, but I love the idea that we worked on it while we had the same age.

At spoolsewing I saw birdies. Too cute to ignore. so I made my own flock:

can't make my mind up

It is too much fun: rearranging the squares. Can't get enough of it.  I changed my  original plan and now it is going to be like this: (that is: my plan today, tommorow can be different)

Roses and x-mas? Well it is my quilt so, what can you do about it?

AND my new fabrics purchased at e-quilter , so I can restart the designing.

Life is too beautiful.

 

ziggy's vineyard

Yep, having a rich harvest this year.

You can see the beginning of each row: that is what happens when you knit a motif on circular needles. I did the beginnings on the inside of the legs. Wasn't  that a smart thing to do?

frogging ziggy

I frogged the Ziggy. Normaly when I do colourknitting, I cast on 72 stitched. The Ziggy pattern gave a choice between 66 and 72, so ofcourse I did 72. But it was way to large. The mysterie of knitting.

This is the new Ziggy: with more colours. I like it better this way.

I made a quick photo, so now the sock looks blue, but it's green.

x-mas quilt

Feeling the need to make a x-mas family quilt. Nothing can stop me now.
